Sensory Products: Are they any good?!

Sensory Products: Are they any good?!

What's the need for a weighted blanket? Or even a compression vest? What is the purpose, what does it do?! People have been asking these questions and hopefully, I can provide some of you with a better understanding to how sensory products work!

These functional items can consist of weights, like (bean bags) and tight fitting fabrics to provide deep pressure which calms and centers one's body by providing both tactile and proprioceptive (stimuli) feedback or input to the body; which effects and communicate to the central nervous system.

Sensory input increases endorphin levels, decrease heart rate and blood pressure and can cause the release of both serotonin and dopamine in the brain (( happy )) neurotransmitters and produce a feeling of calmness  :)

Products such as weighted blankets, therapy swings, sit and spins are great sources to utilize for sensory stimulation or input to calm or actually even awaken one's body and mind.

The weighted polo is a relevant creation to our non- stigmatizing apparel and to simply provide kiddos with functional wearables that are in-style!
